GLOSSARY
Printer Ink

Printer ink is a viscous fluid which is used for printing, typically found inside printer ink cartridges (also known as inkjet cartridges). Printer ink comes in two main chemistry formula types, specifically dye ink or pigment ink. Pigment ink is more viscous, and is usually found in Lexmark and Dell printer cartridge types. Printer ink comes in 4 main colors (Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) but also in other less popular colors like Green, Red, Photo Cyan or Photo Magenta. The last 2 colors mentioned are also referred to in the printer industry as light cyan and light magenta. Aftermarket printer ink manufacturers supply the ink used in remanufactured or compatible inkjet cartridges, and are usually advertised to meet or exceed the original printer cartridge specifications.
